Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about UnitySave and savings circles.

What is a savings circle (ROSCA)?

A savings circle — known as ROSCA, Tanda, Ajo, Stokvel, Chama, or Gameya depending on your culture — is a group of people who contribute a fixed amount on a regular schedule. Each period, one member receives the entire pool. It's a time-tested method of community savings practiced across Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and diaspora communities worldwide.

How does UnitySave protect my money?

UnitySave never directly holds your funds. All payments are processed through bank-grade payment providers like Stripe. Your financial data is encrypted with AES-256 encryption, and we use bank-level security protocols to keep your information safe.

What happens if a member misses a payment?

UnitySave has an Auto-Guarantee Policy. If a contribution isn't received by 2:59 PM in the member's local time on the scheduled day, UnitySave automatically covers the payment so the circle continues uninterrupted at no fee or interest, and the member has 14 days to repay the principal.

Which countries are supported?

We're launching in 5 markets: the United States, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, and Kenya. Each market supports local currency and local payment methods. More markets are coming soon.

Is UnitySave free to use?

Creating an account and joining circles is free. Members pay a flat monthly membership fee based on their account tier — see our Pricing page. There are no hidden fees, and distributions are never reduced by a platform cut.

Who built UnitySave?

UnitySave is a product of Sorfir Associates, a strategic advisory and product consulting firm specializing in consumer technology and financial technology. Sorfir Associates is licensed in the United States and Nigeria.
